Anchor River - Little slush in the river making it tough for the last die hard
fishermen of the year. Thank You Everybody for all your

Anchor River - Not much slush this morning and many Steelhead caught by the usual
suspects, Larry, Curly and Moe. Slush picked up in the afternoon. Tomorrow
is the Last Day on the Anchor River.
Weds. Oct. 29th - 9:00am
Anchor River - Still ice on the edges and little slush, but their are
some dye hard Steelheaders catching multiple fish and having incredible
fishing.
Tues. Oct. 28th - 9:00am
Anchor River - Ice is closing in... Still some great holes for
Steelhead fishing. Fish are holding in areas that warm up first.
Mon. Oct. 27th - 9:00am
Anchor River - More Ice along the river this morning, some Steelhead
still being caught and Doll Fishing is still active. 4 Days left,
Stay Warm !

Anchor River - Ice along the banks this morning with temps around 17*
this morning, some slush in the river. 5 days left, stop in the shop for a hat
or Hoodie for a Christmas present.
Sat. Oct. 25th - 9:00am
Anchor River - Like yesterday, Very cold in the morning, little ice on
the banks and slush at a minimum. Stop by the shop to warm up if needed.
Fri. Oct. 24th - 9:00am
Anchor River - Cool temps left a little ice on the banks, but not a
lot of slush in the river. Stay Warm !
Weds. Oct. 22nd - 9:00am
Anchor River - Little Ice along the banks this morning with temps in
the 20's, some slush in the river, but fishing well.
Tues. Oct. 21st - 9:00am
Anchor River - Conditions remain good for Steelhead and many nice fish
have been caught. Dolly's are still very active.
Deep Creek - Fishing remains to be good here as well.
Ninilchek - Many good reports from fisherman, between the two bridges
has been good.

Anchor River - Water is still a little high, but nice and clear.
Steelhead seem to have moved up and are holding, with few fresh fish caught in
lower river.

Anchor River - Water is cleared up a little and still a little high.

Anchor River - Rain yesterday and last night has brought up the river
a little. By 1pm it has cleared a little and dropped a few inches. Still
good fishing conditions.
Fri. Oct. 17th - 8:00am
Anchor River - Remains in good condition with clear water and water
level about the same. Good fishing between the bridge hole and 159.
*** Lost and found - Looking for a gray, yellow and black
back pack, left at Steelhead Campground, on the Anchor River, Yesterday between

Anchor River - Very little rain last night had no effect on the
conditions. Fish seem to have moved up river and holding in the deeper
holes and cutbanks.

Anchor River - Still looks like it's dropping slowly and has cleared
up . Fishing has slowed down a little only due to conditions.

Anchor River - River looks good and fishing continues to be
active.

Anchor River - River has dropped and cleared up, looking better than
yesterday.

Anchor River - River has dropped a little and the water has cleared
round the edges. Fish seem to be holding in certain areas with few
fresh fish being caught.

Anchor River - Rain has brought the river up a little with not bad
color.

Anchor River - A little warmer temps have made conditions better and
there is no slush in the river. Rain last night may have brought the river
up 1-2 inches.

Anchor River - Snow and rain today and lots of wind, but no slush in
the river. Bridge Hole has been productive.
Weds. Oct. 8th - 8:00am
Anchor River - Very cold this morning has frozen the edges of the river
and is full of slush, making it hard to get down to the fish with any kind of
presentation. Bead Fishing with a strike indicator seemed to work better
than swinging flies.
4:30pm - Heavy snow is putting slush in the river and will be
evident until hours after the snow stops. I will indicate in the morning
what upper river looks like.

Anchor River - Cold Conditions showing the first little ice in the
banks this morning and still some active steelhead around.

Anchor River - River still looks great and Steelhead fishing continues
to be good.

Anchor River - Cool temps. have brought the water temp. down, fish
seem to be warming up around 10am, still great Steelhead fishing.

Anchor River - Just a beautiful day on the river, Steelhead fishing is
doing great right now and the Dolly action is good also. River conditions
are perfect.

Anchor River - River remains in great condition for fall Steelhead
fishing. Some fresh chromer Silvers were caught yesterday at the Picknick
Hole.

Anchor River - River has dropped and holding at this level for
now. The visibility is very clear and water temps. have dropped.

Anchor River - Big fresh colored beads and Grant's Black Leech have
been hot, check deep holes and cut banks for holding steelhead.

Anchor River - Great conditions with lower water and very clear.
Try smaller dark patterns in the low clear.

Anchor River - We are experiencing excellent fishing on the Anchor
right now. Many fresh Steelhead have been coming in on the tides and
moving up river. Great fishing above the bridge.

Anchor River - Reports from the river can be a little unbelievable,
but true. There are a few hot pockets in the river, both holding many
Dolly's and areas of Steelhead.

Anchor River - Rain has stayed away and the river is in great
condition. Steelhead fishing is awesome right now ! Please pinch
the barbs on your hooks, these poor Steelhead have been caught many times and a
few are starting to show damage to lips and gill plates.

Anchor River - River continues to drop and clear making excellent
fishing conditions.

Anchor River - Great fishing conditions right now for Steelhead and
Dolly Varden. Silvers have slowed down, but a few Chromers were caught

Anchor River - The river has dropped nicely and has cleared up, making
fishing active again. High tide in near future and no rain in the future
should make for a great week of fishing !

It is much clearer and dropped about 3-4 inches.

Anchor River - OK Game On ! River has dropped a little

Anchor River - Starting to look good, still about 10-12 inches high,
but clearing nicely and getting better by the hour.

Anchor River - This morning the river is still up, now cloudy and dark
after rain last night. Still fish will bright colors and plenty of

Anchor River - Much clearer today, but the water lever has not
dropped much. Good fishing conditions, many Steelhead have moved up and
the Dolly fishing is doing Great !

Anchor River - Rain has stopped but the river is still high and
cloudy. It takes about a day to clear up and drop a little as long as the
rain stops.

Anchor River - More rain has brought up the river about 8-10 inches
and is turning a mocha color. Rain, Rain Go Away !

Anchor River - Rain last night has brought up the river and turned it

Anchor River - Not much change from yesterday. Silvers are slowing
down, less and less each day. Steely's have been hitting beads the best
and a couple of my fly patterns have been working Great ! Dolly's have
been consistent and in spawning colors.

just a tint of color.

patterns, egg patterns or beads. Beads work well.

Anchor River - River continues to drop and is at it's lowest level
this year. Dolly's being caught in lower river and looking for the next
group of high tides to see a big push off Dolly's.

Anchor River - Still kings in lower river and dolly's have been caught
in lower river for the best luck. Still looking for the big push of
Dolly's.

Anchor River - Still a good number of King salmon in the lower river,
fishermen should be aware and not target the Kings. The Dolly's still
seem to be in lower river.

Anchor River - At a glance, there are a lot of Kings in the
river. Should be good fishing for Dolly's behind any Kings you may see.

Anchor River - Upper river is clear and at a nice water level, lower
river looks great, nice and clear and good water level.

Anchor River - Looks like we will have a nice river to fish for the July 1st
opener. Please continue to use a single hook, artificial lure
only and no bait, my own opinion.
Kasilof River - Morning tide was hit hard with the dip netters, so
fishing up river was a little slow.

Anchor River - There is still a little color in the river, but should
hold out for a good opener July 1st.
Kasilof - Still having some good Sockeye fishing, always on the
high tides for the best fishing.

Anchor River - Rain, Rain, Rain! Upriver is starting to cloud
up, but lower river hasn't changed much. If rain continues the river will
take about two days to clear up.

clearer.
Kasilof River - Last night the bite was on at high tide and would
expect it to be pretty good today.

Anchor River - River looks much better today and the water level up a
little.
Kasilof River - 9:00am - Fishing well for Sockeye with
an occasional King Salmon, make for good fishing. Fishing was a little
slow, but picked up around high tide at 2:00pm and has been fishing well on the
tide.

Anchor River - River came up from all the rain and looks like a mocha
coffee, dirty !

Anchor River - Happy Summer Solstice ! The river is looking
great ! Just waiting for July 1st for the river to open. Use single hook,
artificial lures only and no bait or scent.

Anchor River - Closed until July 1st, single hook artificial lures
only, no bait or scent.
Kasilof River - Still fishing good for Kings and Sockeye.
Some nice size Bows have been caught and the Crooked Creek river bank fishing
is still good.

Russian River - Opens today ! Sockeye are in on the Russian and

Upper Kenai River - Opens today, Russian River Reds are in and the
limit is 3 per day, go fill your cooler and watch for bears !

Anchor River - Amazingly the river is in good shape after the rain,
only a little color in the river, conditions are still favorable for a good day
on the river. Many Kings caught today and the river remains very active.

Anchor River - Fishing well today with many Kings caught on the
morning tide, which should bring good fishing on the evening tide. Anchor
River is still in good condition with water a little low, but still pretty
clear.

the river, but still clear enough to see the bottom. Good numbers of
Kings in the river should make for a good day of fishing.

Anchor River - River looks great for fishing at midnight. Good
numbers of king salmon have been caught out in the salt and looks like a good
day on Saturday.

Anchor River - Water conditions are great right now, fish count continues to
improve, which should make for a great weekend of fishing.

Anchor River - Great weather has brought the river down and has cleared
up. King fishing in the salt has been good along with good Halibut tides.

Anchor River - River has cleared up since yesterday to almost
perfect conditions, higher than before and almost clear. Great King
fishing in the salt today, halibut fishing is picking up.

visibility. The evening produced a few fish, Kings and Jacks. The
king count looks good.
Ninilchek River - Kings are in on the Ninilchek and seemed to be
fishing better than the Anchor today.

Anchor River - Showing improvements with the water clearing to a degree,
but still high and dirty.
Ninilchek River - Good reports from Ninilchek with a few kings
caught along with a few Jack Kings.

the wind today will make King fishing interesting.

Mon. May 26th - 6:00am Memorial Day
Anchor River - One of the best Memorial Weekend's of fishing in the
last few years, a good number of Kings have been caught this weekend and the
numbers are increasing.
Sun. May 25th - 6:00am
Anchor River - Slidehole and lower river have been productive, with
over 10 Kings caught this morning. Starting to see some significant
numbers go through the weir now.
Sat. May 24th - 6:00am
Anchor River - Nice king caught early this morning on a orange vibrax,
Bright color flies work best in the morning light and late evening. Still
a few Steelhead are being caught also.
Fri. May 23rd - 5:30am
Anchor River - Smoke blowing north today, so much clearer and not too
many folks here yet. River is in perfect shape for the weekend, with no
rain in sight.
Thurs. May 22nd - 6:00am
Anchor River - Smoke from the firs has mad it a little smoky around
here, but won't effect the fishing this weekend.
Weds. May 21st - 6:00am
Anchor River - River Closed Today, regs. are not up to date.
Water still looks great, low and clear. Smoky from the fire.
Tues. May 20th - 6:30am
Anchor River - River closed today, of course, but with the nice
weather we should be ok for this weekend.
Mon. May 19th - 6:30am
Anchor River - Many good reports from folks and all agree it is still
early with some great fishing to come.
Sun. May 18th - 6:30am
Anchor River - Lower river has produced the most fish caught, with a
few caught in the Slidehole area. Bright color lures in the dim light and
Black during the day as a general rule.
Sat. May 17th - 5:00am Opening Weekend !
Anchor River - Water Conditions perfect for today's opener and few
were caught after midnight. First light produced a number of nice fish
and saw 4 caught.
Fri. May 16th - 5:30am
Anchor River - King Salmon were spotted at the mouth finning and
surfacing, so there are fish in the river and hope to be a good opener at
midnight.

Anchor River - Water Looks Great for the Opener !
Looks a little low if anything, but the color is clear.

the future of our King Salmon run.

Anchor River - Water has cleared up significantly and looks great ! Get your fly rods rigged up !

Anchor River - We are looking at a great first weekend for the opener this
year. River continues to clear up and water lever is perfect.

Anchor River - River is clearing up fast and is looking great !
Water level hasn't changed much, may have come down a little.

Anchor River - Starting to clear up a little and could have dropped
just a little.

Anchor River - River just a little high today and mocha color, Kings
seen at the mouth.
Wed. May 7th - 8:00am
Anchor River - Rain last night has brought up the river a little and
it is still brown and muddy. Not too bad, and it still looks like it
could be a good opener.
Tue. May 6th - 8:00am
Anchor River - Little rain up river has turned it a little brown and muddy but
the water level didn't come up much.

Anchor River - River looks great ! Conditions continue to improve with the
edges clearing and water level is right on !

Anchor River - River continues to clear up and staying at the same
level today.
Kasilof River - Great reports from the Kasilof River for some early Steelhead
fishing.
Sat. May 3rd - 8:000am
Anchor River - The color is starting to clear up with some clearing
around the edges and is a t a nice level.
Kasilof River - River is still very low which makes for some great
Steelhead fishing. Crooked Creek area is one good spot on the river to
try.

Anchor River - River still is coming down a little and the color is still
muddy. If no rain, we should have a good opener.

May 1st , 2014- 8:00am The Fly Box Opens !
Anchor River - River looks great for this time of year. The
level is just a little high and it's a mocha color. River will be open
for King Salmon Starting May 17th, open only Sat's. Suns. and Mons.
Wednesdays are closed this year.
