2023 Fishing Report

Weds. Nov. 1st
Anchor River - Closed until May 18th, if we get a King Salmon season on a normal year. You can bet it will be closed until July 15th. the new normal.

Tues. Oct. 31st - 9am
Anchor River - The River held out to be good until the end of the year! Some ice on the banks and a little slush, but the Steelhead remained active and warmer temps.

Mon. Oct. 30th - 9am
Anchor River - Good Steelhead fishing today and it wasn't that cold.  River is in good shape with a little slush.

Sun. Oct. 29th - 9am
Anchor River - Ice on the banks and a little shush.  Steelhead were active today, going 6 for 8 on the day.  Best fishing was in the middle of the day.

Sat. Oct. 28th - 9am
Anchor River - Still good Steelhead fishing and the conditions remain the same.  Looks like we make it to the end of the month. High of 45 today.

Fri. Oct. 27th - 9am
Anchor River - Cooler morning and we are getting ice in the eyes of our rods until around 11am. Best fishing has been in mid-day, the warmest time of the day.

Thurs. Oct. 26th - 9am
Anchor River - The slush was not too bad this morning and got less by mid day.  Steelhead fishing has been great! The water lever is getting slightly lower.

Weds. Oct. 25th - 9am
Anchor River - Warmest morning in a while, good Steelhead fishing reports and good water.  Ice slowly building along the banks.

Tues. Oct. 24th - 9am
Anchor River - Good Steelhead fishing today and found a few fish in new places up river.

Mon. Oct. 23rd - 9am
Anchor River - Good river conditions remain and still good reports of Steelhead fishing.

Sun. Oct. 22nd - 9am
Anchor River - Seeing more ice along the banks of the river and more slush in the river, making it tough to swing flies.  bead fishing seems to be working well. Eyes on the rods were freezing up.

Sat. Oct. 21st - 8am
Anchor River - Beautiful morning, with cool temperatures around 21* with ice/slush in the river until about 11am, then it let up a little. There is Ice along the banks and slush in the river. Eyes on the rods were freezing up. Steelhead have been active.

Fri. Oct. 20th - 8am
Anchor River - Great day on the river, with the ice freezing up the eyes on our rods, made it fun until about 10:30am.  Steelhead got hot about noon.

Thurs. Oct. 19th - 8am
Anchor River - Great Steelhead fishing continues and the river is in great shape.

Weds. Oct. 18th - 8am
Anchor River - One of the prettiest days we have had in a long time, not a cloud in the sky !  River has come down and is in great shape.
Deep Creek - Steelhead fishing has been great and continues to have good river conditions. 

Tues. Oct. 17 - 8am
Anchor River - Water is still high and is dropping slowly.  The visibility is still pretty good, fair Steelhead fishing conditions.

Mon. Oct. 16th - 8am
Anchor River - Water came up a few inches and is a little high and off color this morning.  Still OK conditions for Steelhead fishing.

Sun. Oct. 15th - 8am
Anchor River - Good river conditions remain and still good Steelhead fishing.  Dolly Varden are active.  Rain this afternoon.

Sat. Oct. 14th - 8am
Anchor River - River remains in good condition and is at a nice level.  Steelhead fishing is still good.

Fri. Oct. 13th - 8am
Anchor River - Still looking good and we are seeing Steelhead fishing improve a little, with the holding temps and nice river conditions.

Thurs. Oct. 12th - 8am
Anchor River - Snowed last night and flurries continued throughout the day.  Steelhead fishing is good and we are seeing fish all through the river.

Weds. Oct. 11th - 8am
Anchor River - We are seeing great river conditions with nice clear water and at a perfect level.  Good Steelhead fishing today and the Dolly's were active.

Tues. Oct. 10th - 8am
Anchor River - Good Steelhead fishing today !  The river is still in good shape. A few rain showers today did nothing to the river.

Mon. Oct. 9th - 8am
Anchor River - Few rain showers in the morning, but conditions are fine and still good Steelhead fishing.

Anchor River - Beautiful Day and great river conditions.  Still good Steelhead fishing.

Anchor River - River still in good conditions and good reports of Steelhead fishing.

Anchor River - Little rain last night did nothing to the river, it may be just a little higher, but still good Steelhead fishing.

Anchor River - River may have come up an inch or two, with good visibility.  Steelhead fishing has been good.

Weds. Oct. 4th - 8am
Anchor River - Rain and very windy today, not much change to the river, conditions are good.

Tues. Oct. 3rd - 8am
Anchor River - An absolutely beautiful morning, cool but clear.  The river is dropping slowly and is very clear.  Steelhead fishing has been improving with what seems to be a push of fish coming in on the high tides we have had recently !

Mon. Oct. 2nd - 8am
Anchor River - Rain this morning quit early and it was a good day of Steelhead fishing.  River conditions are great !

Sun. Oct. 1st - 8am
Anchor River - We are seeing that a new fish pushing in to the river on these high tides.  Fishing is good !! Very little rain did nothing to the river.

Sat. Sept. 30th - 8am
Anchor River - Good fishing today with a bunch of new fish pushing in.  river is in great shape, the little rain has done nothing to the river conditions.

Fri. Sept. 29th - 8am
Anchor River - Little warmer this morning.  Fishing was good, with a nice 29" Steelhead and a few Dolly's.  River is in perfect condition.
Kenai River - Is On Fire for Rainbows !!!

Thurs. Sept. 28th - 8am
Anchor River - Cold morning and the water is dropping very slowly.  Conditions are great and fishing was good, one Steelhead and two Dolly's.

Weds. Sept. 27th - 8am
Anchor River - Took a while for things to warm up this morning, fishing was better at the warmest part of the day.

Tues. Sept. 26th - 8am
Anchor River - Great river conditions today, but cold this morning.  Took a while for the fish to bite, then had a good day.

Mon. Sept. 25th - 8am
Anchor River - River is in excellent condition !  It seems that the Steelhead run is a little low this year or they are late.  Few reports of great Steelhead fishing, kind of hit or miss.

Sun. Sept. 24th - 8am
Anchor River - Good river condition today, the water is nice and clear and just a touch high.

Sat. Sept. 23rd - 8am
Anchor River - Water is looking good and it is just a little high, but you can cross in certain places.

Fri. Sept. 22nd - 8am
Anchor River - The water is much clearer today, but still running high.

Thurs. Sept. 21st - 8am
Anchor River - Rained last night and this morning, isn't helping out at all !  River raised up yesterday and is still high and off color.  Been tough the last two days for fishing.

Weds. Sept. 20th - 8am
Anchor River - Rained hard last night! The river was in fair condition this morning and by 9:30am we saw the water rise and turn dirty as we fished.  No action today.

Tues. Sept. 19th - 8am
Anchor River - Cold Morning today and river conditions improving to good, visibility is clear and just a little high for my liking. God fishing today.

Mon. Sept. 18th - 8am
Anchor River - River looks much better today, with good visibility, but still running a high.  Still a bunch of Silvers in the river.

Sun. Sept. 17th - 8am
Anchor River - Hard rain yesterday and last night has made the river brown and high.  Still ok to fish, but not great condition.

Sat. Sept. 16th - 8am
Anchor River - River is still in good condition today after the little rain last night.  Just a little off color and came up just a touch.

Fri. Sept. 15th - 8am
Anchor River - River is still in good conditions as of this morning.  The rain did little to the river it is clear and in perfect shape

Thurs. Sept. 14th - 8am
Anchor River - Good Fishing today, starting to see more Steelhead up river in new places.  Check anything that looks good ! Lite rain has done nothing to the river.

Weds. Sept. 13th - 8am
Anchor River - Mostly Dolly's today in the lower river. Only saw one Steelhead caught today.  Still Silver coming in.  River is in perfect shape!

Tues. Sept. 12th - 8am
Anchor River - Did well on Steelhead today and a few Silvers.  The river is in great condition.

Anchor River - The river is in perfect shape.

Anchor River - Good Steelhead fishing today, landing 2 and 3 Silvers.  River is in great shape !

Anchor River - Looks great today and we got 3 Steelhead today!  All on flies !
Kenai River - Ice glacier dam broke Flood Warning !!

Anchor River - Much nicer river conditions today ! Good reports of Steelhead fishing and Dolly fishing. 

Thurs. Sept. 7th - 8am
Anchor River - Water is clearing up very nice and should stay nice if we don't get too much rain.  One Steelhead and two Dolly's today.

Weds. Sept. 6th -
Anchor River - One Silver today and many Dolly's Great for the 1st timers.
Kenai River - Still great Rainbow and Dolly fishing on beads. #6 Dk Fresh Roe.

Tues. Sept. 5th - 8am
Anchor River - Silvers are still coming in as we got one this morning.  Many Dolly's today ! Water is clearing but still a little high.

Anchor River - Water is clear but high.

Anchor River - The river is high and still a little dirty, off color, about 1 ft visibility.

Anchor River - Water is high and dirty, slowly clearing.
Kenai River - Rainbow fishing was on fire today and many Dolly's too.

Anchor River - Silver are in and people are catching them on eggs, Lures and Flies.
Upper Kenai River - Great Rainbow and Dolly fishing !  The Sockeye are in and no problem getting a limit.

Weds. Aug. 9th - 6am
Anchor River - There are some Silvers in the river, best to try early in the morning and using eggs has been very effective.
Upper Kenai River - The Sockeye are in and the rainbow fishing was amazing !

Tues. Aug. 8th - 6am
Anchor River - Good Dolly action today and we did see a couple of Silvers caught on eggs.

Mon. Aug. 7th - 6am
Anchor River - River is low and we could use some rain.
Kenai River - Still getting some fresh Sockeye in the Soldotna Area.

Sun. Aug. 6th - 6am
Anchor River - There is great Dolly Varden fishing going on and we still are looking for a big push of Silvers.

Sat. Aug. 5th - 6am
Anchor River - Water is very low, but very clear.  Great Dolly Fishing.
Kenai River - We are still getting Sockeye and the big push of Sockeye is just getting to the upper Kenai R.

Fri. Aug. 4th - 6am
Anchor River - Still looking for a big push of Silvers, maybe on the next series of high tides. 

Thurs. Aug. 3rd - 6am
Anchor River - We caught a ton of Dolly's today !  No luck with the Silvers, but we did catch one Pink.

Anchor River - Looking for some Silvers was a little tough today !
Kenai River - Sockeye !  We did great today, with a record time or 12 fish caught, cleaned, in the cooler back in the truck in 1.5 hrs. !

Anchor River - Dolly Varden fishing was good today!  Upper river is open now and you will see the Dolly's moving up river.

Mon. July 31th - 6am
Anchor River - Mostly Dolly's today and two Pink Salmon.  Still looking for Silvers.
Kenai River - Sockeye are still doing great on the lower Kenai River, still coming in strong.

Sun. July 30th - 6am
Anchor River - The river is in good condition and the Dolly fishing has been good!
Kasilof River - Still catching lots of Sockeye in the upper river from the lake to the highway.  Limit 6

Sat. July 29th - 6am
Kenai River - Another great day at the Kenai Office...lol We got several limits of Sockeye in a very short time and had the most fun catching fish. Know body else was catching any. A guy asked me what color yarn I was using... I cut my rig off and told him to tie it to his swivel...  minutes later he started lighting them up and he went from frown to a huge smile and I just laughed !

Anchor River - Looks like good river conditions,  and the Dolly's are now coming in!  Should be some Pinks and Silvers showing up soon !
Kenai River - We are having a ball with the sockeye this year !  30 fish in 2.5 hours, caught, cleaned and in the cooler !

Thurs. July 27th - 6am
Anchor River - Still looking for a push of Silvers and we are seeing some dolly's.
Kenai River - Sockeye are in thick, you can walk across them !

Weds. July 26th - 6am
Anchor River - The river conditions are great and the water has come down nicely and is clear.
Kenai River - Is stuffed with Sockeye, go fill your cooler !

Tues. July 25th - 6am
Anchor River - Not a lot of Dolly Action today ! 

Mon. July 24th - 6am
Anchor River - We have a little high water, but dropping fast.
Upper Kenai River - The Rainbow and Dolly fishing was great today, not much sign of the big push of Sockeye yet.

Sun. July 23rd - 6am
Anchor River - Still looking for the Silver to show up and there are a few Dolly in the river.

Sat. July 22nd - 6am
Anchor River - Water has dropped and is starting to clear up after the rain made it dirty the last couple of days. Dolly fishing was ok today.
Kenai River - the water level in the lower river is maintaining at the same level.  Fishing was slower compared to the last couple of days.
Kasilof River - Sockeye Fishing starting to slow down today.

Fri. July 21st - 6am
Anchor River - Still a little high and off color. One report of a Silver hooked in the lower river.
Kenai River - Good Sockeye fishing today, with pretty good numbers of fish. Limit goes to 6 fish per day today.

Thurs. July 20th - 6am
Anchor River - High and dirty, should take a day or so to clear up.
Kenai River - Great Sockeye fishing today ! Only took 1.5 hrs to get 3 fish landed and cleaned !

Weds.  July 19th - 6am
Anchor River - The rain has brought up the river and we had a hard time fishing for the dolly's.  Water will be better tomorrow.

Tues.July 18th - 6am
Anchor River - Water has come down a little and improved visibility, the Dolly's are in and we did see sign of some Silvers in the river.
Kasilof River - Sockeye fishing today was amazing !  There are good numbers of fishing in the river and limit is 6 fish.
Kenai River - Good Sockeye fishing today with the numbers of fish slowly rising.

Mon. July 17th - 6am
Anchor River - Water is high and not too good for fishing today. 
Kenai River - Upper Kenai today was still running high and we did catch a couple Rainbows and Dolly's, but a slow day.

Sun. July 16th - 6am
Anchor River - River opens today, although it is running high and brown, blown out!
Kasilof River - Sockeye are running good right now.
Kenai River - Sockeye are in in the lower river and seem to be a little late this year.

Sat. July 15th - 6am
Anchor River - Closed ! Opens at midnight, but the river is running high and blown out.  Not a great opener !
Kenai River - Not a great day on the river with not too many Sockeye in the river yet, although we did get two.

Fri. July 14th - 6am
Anchor River - Rain has brought the river up and is very dirty.
Kasilof River - Sockeye are running  good and there have been a bunch of fish were caught today !
Kenai River - Had a small push of fish go by today and
did managed to get a couple in the morning, the afternoon was slow.

Thurs. July 13th - 6am
Anchor River - Closed until July 15th, Opens on the 16th.
Ninilchik River - Went after some Dolly's today with out much sign of fresh dolly's. We did catch two Jack Kings.

Weds. July 12th - 6am
Anchor River - Water is looking good, but the river is closed until July 15th. check out the other rivers open on the Peninsula.
Kenai River - Slow sockeye fishing today with only one fish caught.

Tues. July 11th - 6am
Anchor River - River closed until July 15th.
Kenai River - Upper Kenai was hot for Rainbows and dolly's, weather was nice and we caught a bunch of fish !

Mon. July 10th - 6am
Anchor river -  Looks good with a perfect water lever for this time of year.
Kenai River -  We caught a couple of reds and ended the day with  a 30 lb. King. Caught and released !

Sun. July 9th - 6am
Anchor River - Closed until July 15th
Upper Kenai - Pretty good Rainbow and dolly fishing.

Sat. July 8th - 6am
Anchor River - Closed until July 15th.
Upper Kenai - There was a hatch on the river and we enjoyed some good Dry fly fishing.

Fri. July 7th - 6am
Anchor River - Closed until July 1th.
Upper Kenai River - Rainy day and we didn't get much on the river today.

Thurs. July 6th - 6am
Anchor River - Closed until July 15th.
Kenai River - River conditions are favorable for rainbow fishing and there is good visibility.

Weds. July 5th - 6am
Anchor River - Water looks good and a little low for this time of year, hope for rain for the river not for fishing !
Kasilof River - Sockeye fishing was pretty good, only a few fish for the beginners today.

Tues. July 4th - 6am Happy Independence Day !!
Anchor River - Closed until July 15th, because of the projected low King Salmon return.
Kasilof River - Still good sockeye fishing, many fish caught today !

Mon. July 3rd 6am
Anchor River - Looks good but really low.
Kenai River - Still not too many sockeye in yet.
Kasilof River- - Kings have slowed down and we are starting to see a nice push of Sockeye.

Sun. July 2nd - 6am
Anchor River - Closed until July 15th.
Kasilof River - Good sockeye fishing today, but no Kings.

Sat. July 1st - 6am
Anchor River - Closed until July 15th.
Kenai River - Russian River Reds are in and it's good fishing!

Fri. June 30th - 6am
Kasilof River - King Salmon fishing was god today, you can keep two Hatchery Kings.

Thurs. June 29th - 6am
Anchor River - Closed until July 15th.
Kenai River - We are still getting some reds in the lower river.

Weds. June 28th - 6am
Anchor River - Wish I could throw a line in there, it looks so good!
Kasilof River - We got a couple sockeye today and saw a few Kings caught from the boats.

Tues. June 27th - 6am
Anchor River - Still closed, will open July 15th.
Ninilchik River - Not much happening on he river today, we hooked and lost a King.

Mon June 26th - 6am
Anchor River - River looks good, but we could use some water as it looks like it's getting low.

Sun. June 25th - 6am
Kenai River - There are a tom of Sockeye in the river in the Cooper Landing, Russian River area.
Kasilof River - We are still picking up some Kings and saw a huge King caught today !

Sat. June 24th - 6am
Kenai River - Rainbow Trout fishing is picking up and there are still a ton of Sockeye in the river.
Russian River - Limit has been raised to 9 fish per day !

Fri. June 23rd - 6am
Kenai River - The 1st run of Sockeye has passed the Soldotna area and we are starting to see 2nd run Sockeye starting to show up.
Kasilof River - Sockeye fishing has been good and finding them up river at the corner.

Thurs. June 22nd - 6am
Kenai River - Little slower Sockeye fishing in Soldotna, but did catch a 2nd run fish today.
Ninilchik River -Still some Kings rolling around in lower river and finding some up river today.

Weds. June 21st - 6am
Upper Kenai River - Sockeye are in and you can walk across them, there is so many.
Russian River - Limit is 6 Sockeye and there is plenty of good Rainbow fishing as well.

Tues. June 20th - 6am
Kenai River - Sockeye fishing continues to be good in Soldotna.

Mon. June 19th - 6am
Kenai River - Upper Kenai River is full of Sockeye and the limit has been increased from 3 fish per day to 6 per day.
Russian River - The Limit for Sockeye has been raised to 6 fish per day. 

Sun. June 18th - 6am
Kenai River - Great Sockeye fishing in the upper Kenai River.

Sat. June 17th - 6am
Kenai River - Still getting some Sockeye in the lower river. 

Fri. June 16th - 6am
Kenai River - You will find plenty of Sockeye in the river !

Thurs. June 15th - 6am
Anchor River - Starting to look low, which isn't good for the rest of the year.
Russian River - The Reds are In !

Weds. June 14th - 6am
Anchor River - .The river is getting low and is nice and clear.
Kenai River - Upper Kenai River, the Russian River Reds are in and in good numbers today !  We got our limit very quick.

Tues. June 13th - 6am
Anchor River - For this time of year, the river is getting low.
Kenai River - The sockeye are in and good fishing in the Soldotna area and up at Bings.

Mon. June 12th - 6am
Kenai River - We are now starting to see the Sockeye numbers improve on the Kenai and the river is low in the Soldotna area.
Kasilof River - Kings continue to improve, seeing many more caught from the boats. We got some Sockeye as well.

Sun. June 11th -6am
Kenai River - Upper Kenai River opens today for Russian River Reds.  We got our limit very fast today.

Sat. June 10th - 6am
Kenai River - Upper Kenai River from the bridge to Sportsmans the water is high and not much action on flesh flys.

Fri. June 9th - 6am
Anchor River - Closed until July 15th

Thurs. June 8th - 6am
Kasilof River - Picked up a Sockeye, but no Kings from the bank.
Kenai River - Did better from the bank on the Kenai and picked up 5 Sockeye there.

Weds. June 7th - 6am
Kasilof River - Slow King fishing from the bank today, did see a couple Sockeye caught from the boats.

Tues. June 6th - 6am
Anchor River - Water level is perfect and is getting nice and clear.

Mon. June 5th - 6am
Kasilof River - We picked up one King Salmon from the bank today and one Sockeye.
Kenai River - River is low in Soldotna and the Russian River Reds have to come by there first.

Sun. June 4th - 6am
Kasilof River - King fishing was a little slower today, but overall starting to pick up for the season.

Sat. June 3rd - 6am
Anchor River - The river has dropped to a nice level for this time of year.
Kasilof River - King Salmon fishing is picking up, we are seeing more kings caught and Sockeye are starting to show.

Fri. June 2nd - 6am
Kasilof River - Slow King fishing today with out a strike or bite.  There are some sea run dolly's showing up.

Thurs. June 1st - 6am
Anchor River - River is looking good and clearing up nicely.
Kasilof River - River is still low with the water coming up very slowly.  Kings fishing is improving.

Weds. May 31st - 6am
Anchor River - Water is clearing up and water level is perfect for this time of year.
Kasilof River - Few Kings caught today that I could see and no sign of Sockeye yet.

Tues. May 30th - 6am
Kasilof River - Kings were active today and we went 1 for 3 from the bank.  No sign of Reds yet.

Mon. May 29th - 6am
Kasilof River - River is still low and coming up very slowly, reports of a few Steelhead caught this morning.

Sun. May 28th - 6am
Kasilof River - Had a nice day on the river, had a big king on and lost it from the bank.
Ninilchik River - Good King fishing today using bait and one caught on a fly this morning.  Bait fisherman did well !

Sat. May 27th - 6am
Kasilof River - Good river conditions remain for Steelhead and King fishing.  Kings starting to show up.

Fri. May 26th - 6am
Kasilof River - Steelhead fishing this morning was great !  Landed two fish and saw others caught as well.

Thurs. May 25th - 6am
Kasilof River - River is in great shape for Steelhead fishing.  It's low and clear making some spots very accessible.

Weds. May 24th  - 6am
Kasilof River - River conditions are great, low and clear by Crooked Ck. and good action today, landed 1 for 3.

Tues. May 23rd - 6am
Kasilof River - Good reports of Steelhead fishing today.

Mon. May 22nd  - 6am
Anchor River - Closed until July 15th for all species.
Kasilof River - Still good Steelhead fishing with good water conditions.

Sun, May 21st - 8am
Anchor River - River is looking perfect for this time of year and should continue to slowly drop. It;s still brown and high.
Kasilof River - Still low and lots of rock showing. King fishing should improve closer to the end of the month.

Anchor River - The Anchor is Closed until July 15th

Fri. May 19th - 8am
Anchor River - River looks in good shape for this time of year.   It's high and brown but slowly dropping.
Kasilof River - There have been a few Steelhead caught and the Kings should be showing up soon.
